A continuity indicator also provides a quick check that the connected circuit is present.

The chatter setting repeatedly pulses the solenoid to create sound and vibration that may help locate a buried valve box. The tool uses two 9V batteries and has a three-position toggle with a red status LED. It is intended for compatible 24V irrigation solenoids only; it should not be connected to energized line-voltage wiring.
