Armada Technologies GFL3000 Ground Fault Locator
Product Overview
The Armada Technologies GFL3000 is an A-frame fault locator for pinpointing where insulation damage allows current to leak from a direct-buried conductor into the surrounding soil. After the cable route has been identified, the transmitter applies a pulsed high-voltage signal and the A-frame receiver indicates the direction toward the fault. This can help a technician narrow the excavation area instead of exposing a long section of cable.
The transmitter offers selectable 2400V or 3400V DC output for different locating conditions and includes a rechargeable 12V battery. The receiver uses a separate 9V battery. Because the tool generates high voltage, it must be used only on isolated cable by a trained person following the manual and site safety procedures. A separate cable locator is needed when the path is not already known.
Key Features:
- A-frame direct-buried cable fault locator
- Selectable 2400V or 3400V DC output
- Directional analog receiver feedback
- Rechargeable transmitter battery
- Wall and vehicle charging options
Common Uses:
- Irrigation wire insulation faults
- Landscape-lighting cable faults
- Direct-buried conductor repair
Technical Specifications:
- Transmitter Power: Included 12V rechargeable battery
- Receiver Power: 9V battery, not included
- Transmitter Weight: 9 lb
- A-Frame Weight: 3 lb
- Pulse: Approximately every 2 seconds
Safety Note:
Disconnect and isolate the target cable before connection. Follow all high-voltage safety instructions.
FAQ:
Does it map the wire route?
No. Use a cable locator first when the route is unknown.
What fault does it locate?
A point where current leaks from damaged insulation into the earth.
